The 2025 edition of the training and refresher seminars for auditors responsible for the BVCD/DTV classification of German campsites is about to begin. Organized by BVCD Service GmbH, the courses will take place between September and October and are designed both for those wishing to become auditors (training course) and for experienced professionals looking to update their skills (refresher course).
The first level, aimed at newcomers to the auditor role, will be held on September 4–5, 2025, between Bielefeld and Kalletal. The opening day will focus on theory with lessons at Meyer zu Bentrup Camping Park, while the second will provide a hands-on field experience at Campingpark Kalletal. This intensive two-day program will equip participants with the skills needed to independently conduct an official classification.
The second session, scheduled for October 14, 2025 in Bielefeld, is dedicated to current auditors who wish to stay updated on the latest developments in the classification system. The one-day course will provide valuable insights to harmonize procedures and explore new guidelines.

The BVCD/DTV campsite classification ensures consistent standards and reliable evaluations, serving as a valuable tool not only for campsite operators, who can highlight their services, but above all for travelers, who rely on the rating as a trustworthy indicator when choosing the most suitable destination.
Auditors play a crucial role in this process: they are tasked with verifying compliance with established criteria on-site and assigning the official classification. Each campsite is assessed based on a set of parameters, from the quality of sanitary facilities to infrastructure, hospitality, and sustainability, and awarded a number of stars that certify its level, according to the guidelines shared by BVCD (German Camping Association) and DTV (German Tourism Association).
