Scotland-based holiday park network Largo Leisure is beginning a new chapter with the appointment of Michael Wilmot (photo) as its new Group Chief Executive Officer. Michael already has extensive experience in the holiday park sector, having previously worked as CEO of Verdant Leisure as well as spending 16 years in senior finance roles for Parkdean Resorts.

Michael’s arrival at Largo Leisure means that Andrew Howe, who has led the business as Executive Chairman since 2022, will move into the position of Non-Executive Chairman. This personnel change is timed alongside the company refinancing its banking facilities with Virgin Money, which it says will provide a strong platform for its continued growth.

“Our ambition has always been to build a premium Scottish park group of real quality and scale. Bringing in a Chief Executive of Mike’s experience, alongside a new long-term banking partner in Virgin Money, marks an important step in that journey,” said Andrew Howe.

Largo Leisure Holidays currently owns and operates six different holiday parks in Scotland: Loch Tay Highland Lodges in Perthshire, Braidhaugh Holiday Park in Perthshire, Sauchope Links Holiday Park in Fife, Letham Feus Holiday Park in Fife, Campsie Glen Holiday Park in Stirlingshire, and Cruachan Farm Caravan and Camping Park in Perthshire – the latter two of which were added in the last few years as Largo invested in expanding its portfolio.

Across the sites it offers a wide range of different types of accommodation, including touring and camping pitches, camping pods, glamping, cabins and lodges, and exclusive houses. As well as offering these accommodations for tourism purposes, it also has some lodges and holiday homes available for purchase for those who wish to own their own place to return for regular stays.
