With Easter’s arrival, Cavallino-Treporti is gearing up for a promising new tourist season. The long Easter weekend marks the official start of tourism activities, especially for the many campsites in the area. Prospects for the 2025 season are looking good, as confirmed by data collected by FAITA-FederCamping and HBenchmark. By the end of March, the average occupancy rate of tourist accommodations in Veneto had already reached 47.4%, marking a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
“The expected occupancy for the Easter period already amounts to half of the area’s total accommodation capacity,” said Francesco Berton, President of Assocamping Cavallino-Treporti. “By Easter, half of the campsites will be open. Compared to last summer, that’s a significant number, clearly boosted by a favorable calendar featuring the Easter holidays, long weekends, and upcoming German festivities, which ensure more consistent visitor flows throughout the season”.
Among the positive trends highlighted by HBenchmark is a notable increase in length of stays, especially during Holy Thursday (+15%) and in the days following Easter, such as Easter Monday and the following Tuesday (+10%). The fact that Easter falls later in spring this year, closely followed by the April 25 and May 1 holidays, is clearly encouraging longer stays across all types of accommodation.
Cavallino-Treporti mayor Roberta Nesto also emphasized the strong start of the season: “If the morning shows the day, this summer will be a good one. We’ve had strong bookings and, while the weather will play a part, we remain optimistic. The territory has been carefully prepared, and accommodation providers have done an excellent job, as they do every year, to welcome our visitors”.
The Pisani Battery Museum adds to the tourist offer
Adding to the cultural and Easter offerings, the Pisani Battery Museum will reopen on April 18. In 2024, the museum recorded a 5% increase in visitors compared to the previous year, with nearly 10,000 admissions over 172 days of operation. The museum is managed by the Cavallino-Treporti Tourism Park Consortium, which aims to exceed those figures in 2025 thanks to the introduction of new technologies: multilingual audio guides, LIS sign language videos for deaf visitors, holograms, and Oculus VR headsets offering immersive historical reconstructions. The museum will be open on weekends until May 22, after which it will open daily (except Mondays) through September 28.
Mattia Enzo, President of the Consortium, announced even more exciting developments: “We’re working with the Italian Navy to recover historical artifacts linked to the area’s coastal batteries. Our goal is to make the museum increasingly engaging and enriched with original content”.
In this spirit, the Municipality, the Consortium, and the Navy announced the formation of a technical-scientific committee. This working group will include historians, researchers, and representatives from the cultural and tourism sectors, all dedicated to enhancing the historical heritage of the area, particularly the Via dei Forti and the V. Pisani Battery.
“With this committee,” Mayor Nesto concluded, “we want to convey that these places, once the setting for conflict, are today spaces of peace, culture, socialization, exchange, and connection. The committee will include experts in local history, research, and culture, as well as professionals from the tourism sector”.
