The floods that hit Emilia-Romagna in recent weeks were a sudden and somewhat unpredictable tragedy, at least in terms of its size. We therefore spoke with Gianfranco Vitali, President of FAITA-FederCamping Emilia-Romagna, to find out the situation of the open-air accommodation facilities in the region. Moreover, the almost 610 millimeters of rain that fell in 18 days (about half of what falls in an entire year) caused 17 victims and several billions of damages, with over 40 towns and cities flooded and difficulties in every productive sector. Fortunately, our sector has not experienced a direct impact and, despite some foreign cancellations for the period of Pentecost, the long weekend of June 2nd has also proved to be positive.
