Launched in mid-2023, the Spanish HolaCamp project is already bearing fruit. In just six months, the new Catalan camping operator and manager has achieved a direct revenue of €900,000. Interviewed by our collegues of the industry magazine Camping Profesional about projections for 2024, HolaCamp’s CEO, Alfonso Leprevost, stated, “2023 has been a year rich in opportunities and challenges, but we are very satisfied with the successes achieved during this kickoff. Looking ahead to 2024, we have already designed a significant strategic expansion plan across all our business segments, anticipating a turnover of €27.5 million in activities without campsites acquisitions“.

The project is led by four entrepreneurs with extensive experience in the industry. Alongside Alfonso Leprevost, there are Alejo Olano, HolaCamp’s COO and partner, and CEO of Campings Tres Estrellas since 2013; Hector Fina, HolaCamp’s Executive Director and co-founder of Festents in 2010, a leading company in glamping accommodation distribution for major events; and Martin Becker is appointed to lead HolaCamp’s investment division as a non-executive director.

In 2023, the company, managing 5 campsites and 80 glamping accommodations in tour operation, was honored at the IV Gala de los Campings de España. Camping El Garrofer in Sitges received an award for the campground with the most original accommodation in the country, highlighting its focus on innovative and sustainable accommodations for unique experiences.

Expansion strategy for 2024

HolaCamp, headquartered in Barcelona, operates on three main fronts: management of its own campsites, management of third-party campsites, and tour operating. The slogan “The Next Generation Camping Company” encapsulates the innovative project’s concept, aiming to revolutionize the camping industry in Spain and Portugal. How? By introducing the concept of “CampStories“, spaces designed to offer a unique experience where guests can live, share, and create unforgettable memories in perfect harmony with nature.

For 2024, the company will implement a growth strategy involving a total investment ranging from 7 to 8 million euros. A primary objective, as explained by Alejo Olano, is to incorporate between 3 and 5 new campsites, through both acquisition and rental, with an investment exceeding €3.5 million. Then, within the tour operating domain, HolaCamp aims to end the year with 17 campsites, marking a significant increase from the current 7. The total number of accommodations in campsites managed by third parties will reach 450, with an estimated investment of over €3.5 million.

Finally, the company will also focus on “the design and production of its own accommodations, more sustainable and suitable for current customer demands“, as revealed by Hector Fina, with an investment exceeding €20 million for the acquisition and refurbishment of acquired campsites.
