The camping specialist ACSI has presented the first ACSI Innovation Awards, recognitions that reward the most innovative ideas in the outdoor holiday sector. The ceremony took place under the guidance of director Ramon van Reine, who presented the prestigious award to the winning establishments.
The ACSI Innovation Awards were created to highlight smart technologies, sustainable solutions and new concepts capable of improving guest experience and the management of facilities. The ultimate aim is to stimulate innovation in the sector and inspire other operators.
For this first edition, ACSI will award the prizes only in the Benelux and in Austria. However, the aim is to extend the award across Europe from the next edition, in order to give visibility to entrepreneurs who innovate and make the sector increasingly professional, as anticipated by van Reine himself.
In the Benelux, four campsites received the recognition: Camping De Lilse Bergen was awarded for the sustainable use of aquathermy in heating sanitary facilities and showers; Marveld Recreatie stood out for the Bommelwereld indoor park, which ensures complete holiday experiences even in the low season; Vakantiepark Eiland van Maurik received the award thanks to the MAUK Family Entertainment Centre, which makes the village attractive all year round; finally, Henk Pen Campers & Caravans distinguished itself for its Camping 2.0 offering, including sales, maintenance, storage and an experiential area.

A few days later, the ACSI Innovation Award in Austria was also presented. The recognition, which rewards innovative entrepreneurship in the camping sector, was won by Camping Ferienparadies Natterer See for an innovative glamping concept: “With their Secret Koi Garden they take glamping to a higher level. In this design concept, wellness and contact with nature are combined in a very harmonious way. Thanks to storytelling and personalised details, such as lodges connected to koi fish, a unique and romantic hideaway experience at the highest level is created”, explained Van Reine.
During the Camping Gipfel in Graz, the winners of the ACSI Awards 2026 for the camping sector in Austria were also announced. The main prize went to Sportcamp Woferlgut, chosen as the best campsite in the country, while other recognitions were awarded in specific categories, along with honourable mentions for facilities with fewer votes.
