Two of the main European players in the camping holiday market, ACSI and camping.info, have joined forces in the online camping booking sector. From today, May 11, ACSI camping.info Booking is active, thanks to which campsites can enter into a single contract with the two platforms.
For years, both companies have offered the possibility of finding a campsite online. ACSI serves campers from all over Europe through Eurocampings.eu, CampingCard.com and related applications. Camping.info is the largest camping holiday platform on the German-speaking market. Both sides were looking for a way to make camping bookings easier for more and more campers.
“We are combining our software development skills and have created a common platform that will work across both channels. This way we can develop the system faster and serve as many campsites throughout Europe as possible,” explains Ramon van Reine, CEO of ACSI. “With 40 million visits to our common websites and apps we are offering campsites across Europe a fantastic opportunity to showcase their available pitches and accommodations and to acquire bookings. A comparison can be made with the automotive industry, where a single platform from a group is used for different car brands. These are brands that compete with each other for consumers, which ACSI and camping.info continue to do for campers”.
Maximilian Möhrle, CEO of camping.info, says: “Our system is already the most complete on the market and now that we can continue to develop it together, it will only improve”. For Van Reine and Möhrle, the collaboration between the two companies, both family-run, is therefore a logical step. “We want to collaborate in areas where we can implement solutions together. This way we can offer better service to both campsites and campers,” says Möhrle.
