Ferragosto brought a sold-out season to Cavallino-Treporti, once again confirming its status as one of the most popular destinations for open-air holidays. As in previous years, the Venetian town, widely regarded as the European capital of outdoor tourism, has posted record numbers: “We are currently welcoming around 65,000 guests,” said Francesco Berton, president of Assocamping. “A figure that confirms the appeal of our destination”.

Both local data collected by Assocamping and figures provided by the HBenchmark indicators of FAITA-Federcamping highlight steady growth in the sector, with holiday villages and campsites reaching near full occupancy in recent days. These results are consistent with the positive trend observed since the start of the season.

Following a strong April, with double-digit increases driven by the Easter holidays, the April–July period closed with overall growth of 1.5% compared to 2024. Prospects for the coming months are equally encouraging: bookings are already up by an additional 2.5%, while the average length of stay continues to rise, now ranging between 8 and 12 days.

Assocamping: “optimistic about September too”

September also looks set to be strong for Cavallino-Treporti’s campsites, with bookings already above the levels of previous years. “We are optimistic about September as well, a month increasingly appreciated by those seeking relaxation and quality services, although it remains more exposed to weather uncertainties,” noted the president of Assocamping, who also addressed the issue of rising beach umbrella costs, ruling it out as a concern for the sector.

“This issue,” Berton explained, “does not particularly affect us, as our beach management is distinguished by services and equipment dedicated to our guests, with umbrellas available in certain areas but also with wide open spaces that allow visitors to enjoy the beach in complete freedom”.

Positive feedback also came from mayor Roberta Nesto, who emphasized the driving role of campsites, hotels, and B&Bs in Cavallino-Treporti’s tourism sector: “The work carried out in recent years, particularly in terms of investments and support for employment, is proving important and delivering excellent results”, said the mayor. “There is still much to be done, but we are satisfied with the path we are on. The data clearly show that open-air tourism is leading the way, providing significant satisfaction especially in the shoulder seasons, when tourism evolves and becomes an important territorial opportunity”.
