First Camp, the largest camping chain in Scandinavia, continues to invest in Norway and has announced the acquisition of its fifth site in the country: Beitostølen Hytter & Camping, one of the most popular destinations among ski and nature enthusiasts. The official integration into the First Camp network will bring the total number of destinations managed by the group to 73.
Located in a renowned mountain area about three hours from Oslo, the site offers 363 pitches for motorhomes and tents, around 270 of which are seasonal, as well as 27 accommodations, including cabins and apartments. It is a year-round destination, thanks to the wide variety of outdoor activities available throughout the seasons – from skiing to hiking – and it boasts a loyal customer base that First Camp sees as a major strength to preserve and enhance, without changing the identity of the site.
According to Johan Söör, CEO of First Camp, the acquisition of Beitostølen Hytter & Camping is part of the group’s growth strategy in Norway, a market with significant development potential. Despite the change in ownership, operational management will remain with the current owners, but joining the First Camp network will bring greater financial stability and a long-term management vision, benefiting both guests and the future development of the destination.
Soon, Beitostølen will be bookable directly through the group’s website, the largest booking platform for campsites in Scandinavia, and the First Camp Club loyalty program will also be introduced, allowing guests to earn points and enjoy exclusive benefits.
Vebjørn Hagen, Regional Manager for First Camp Norway, confirms the group’s commitment to maintaining the spirit of the destination by working closely with the current operators. The goal is to enrich the guest experience while preserving the strong connection with long-term seasonal guests, who will receive exclusive perks, including discounts at other First Camp locations.
