Very positive forecasts for Easter week in Spanish campsites. According to data compiled by the Spanish Federation of Campsites (FEEC), the national average occupancy for the upcoming holiday is 85%, with some establishments fully booked. Currently, the booking rate for bungalows across the country is practically 95%, while that for pitches is 70%. However, if weather conditions are favorable, we could see a further surge in last-minute bookings.
Filling up the campsites, both on the coast and in the Spanish hinterland, will be predominantly domestic tourism, staying on average for 5 days, with a daily expenditure per family averaging around €100-120. 65% of bookings will concentrate on the 5 days from Thursday, March 28th to Monday, April 1st, but there is also a 10% of bookings for longer stays (from Saturday, March 23rd to Sunday, March 31st).
The outdoor holiday season therefore seems to be off to a good start, in line with the extraordinary results of 2023, a golden year for the camping sector, which saw it reach the historic figure of almost 10 million travellers.
