An important piece of the puzzle has been added to the disbursement of contributions outlined in the Sustainable Tourism Fund. The Italian Ministry of Tourism has, in fact, published on its website the list of certification bodies, which are the accredited organizations responsible for issuing sustainability certifications.

It’s worth noting that the Fund has a total allocation of €25 million (5 million for 2023 and 10 million for each of the years 2024 and 2025) and aims to assist tourism businesses in two specific directions. On one hand, the contributions will be used to carry out initiatives promoting tourism that minimizes economic, environmental, and social impacts (such as controlling tourist flows and destigmatizing seasons). On the other hand, support is directed towards accommodation facilities seeking to obtain sustainability certifications.

For the latter point, the creation of the list of certification bodies was eagerly awaited, and it is now accessible on the Ministry’s website.
