On 23 September, the Espai Escoles Velles in Castell d’Aro will host Girocamping Pro 2026, the professional congress dedicated to tourism and camping organised by the Girona Campsite Association.

The programme for the 2026 edition has now been finalised and will focus on the most topical issues facing the outdoor holiday sector, placing people at the centre of the debate. Talent management, leadership, team coordination, the relationship with younger generations and the increasingly strategic role of technology in business management will be the key themes of discussions involving industry experts and professionals.

The official opening of Girocamping Pro 2026 will be preceded by the General Assembly of the Girona Campsite Association, reserved exclusively for members. From 10:30, the congress will get underway with a programme alternating conferences, round tables, research presentations and networking opportunities. Girocamping Pro 2026 will conclude with The Night of Girona Campsites 2026, the traditional event dedicated to the sector.

Events on the programme

The first presentation, “The perspective of the new generations on the world of camping“, will explore young people’s views on the outdoor sector. This will be followed by two further presentations: one will examine the economic and social profile of open-air tourism in the province of Girona, with an analysis that goes beyond the summer season alone, while the other will consider how to address the main challenges facing the labour market through the presentation of updated data and analysis.

Considerable attention will also be devoted to technological innovation. A round table will examine the role of robotics and new technologies in the operational management of campsites, with particular attention to housekeeping services, in order to understand to what extent these solutions are already a practical reality. The second round table will instead focus on human resources. It will provide an opportunity to discuss how to attract, motivate and retain employees in an increasingly competitive labour market, offering practical tools and strategies for team management.

The day will continue with a presentation on leadership, drawing inspiration from the world of sport to explore how the principles of high performance can be applied to business strategy, people management and organisational development.
