An unusual initiative from Texas could inspire fresh approaches to property sales in the outdoor hospitality sector. The Yurtopian – Dripping Springs, a well-established luxury glamping resort, has decided to transfer full ownership through a raffle-style draw. The prize is not a holiday package, but the entire business, ready to operate and expand.

Promoted as the first of its kind within the glamping and outdoor hospitality market, the scheme allows anyone purchasing a ticket to enter the running to acquire an already profitable operation. The winner will not only become the new owner, but will also have the opportunity to manage – and potentially grow – the resort.

The prize includes:

  • 46 acres of scenic Texas countryside
  • 10 yurts, each with a private hot tub
  • A 2,000 sq ft home complete with office space for business operations
  • The Spa, a private wellness area for treatments and relaxation
  • Three barns with potential for events or further development
  • Additional facilities and infrastructure to support the business

For industry professionals, this initiative raises interesting possibilities. On one hand, it is a creative way to capture attention and reach a broad audience; on the other, it highlights an alternative route for property transfers that might prove particularly attractive in challenging market conditions or in areas where conventional sales can be difficult.
