InOut | The Contract Community 2024, the event organised by the Italian Exhibition Group at the Rimini Trade Fair, this year focuses on the theme of “Veritas”. Authenticity, in fact, is perhaps one of the most pressing challenges facing those offering tourist experiences and stays in holiday villages, campsites, and other accommodation facilities. Starting in 2023, InOut will bring together the four indoor and outdoor industry events: SIA Hospitality Design, Sun Beach&Outdoor Style, Superfaces, and the more recent Greenscape.
Today’s tourism market is undergoing a constant transformation, also because travellers are becoming more and more informed and aware, both of their own needs and of how the offer in the travel and holiday sector works. InOut | The Contract Community, of which Camping Business is media partner and where the editorial staff will be present with its own booth, and the simultaneous TTG Travel Experience are the most important Italian marketplace for tourism and hospitality and will be held from 9 to 11 October 2024.
A choice based on authentic communication
Consumers rely on online reviews, but they also know that false comments exist, positive and negative, and that AI is increasingly creating a series of informative texts. Consequently, they read the descriptions of the accommodation facilities very carefully, compare the reviews, and browse the sites in search of an offer that can really allow them to experience their dream holiday. They often inquire at multiple channels before making a decision and booking.
Veritas, therefore, means first of all a transparent reputation corresponding to the real offer. But there’s more. The theme “Veritas” condenses in one word the transformation of the tourism market, suggesting to companies in the sector the importance of offering authentic, verifiable experiences in line with the expectations of the contemporary traveler.
Authenticity, even in spaces
Veritas does not just mean correspondence between promise and real offer. Even architectural spaces and structures dedicated to hospitality and tourism can and indeed must reflect an important Veritas: that of the place in which they arise and the nature in which they are immersed.
Tourists expect accommodation facilities capable of enhancing local culture, respectful of the environment and sustainable both from the point of view of construction (location, materials, shapes) and interaction with the environment (sustainability of consumption, integration with the landscape). “Today, entrepreneurs and designers have at their disposal a lot of data and detection systems capable of providing concrete information, for example, on the adaptability of architecture and materials to different cultural, social and climatic contexts. Data that helps to correctly orient business choices, development strategies and investments. TTG – InOut 2024 aims to lead the sector towards a new era, where truth, ethics, and sustainability are the pillars on which to build the future of tourism and hospitality,” comments Gloria Armiri, Group Exhibition Manager – Tourism & Hospitality Division of Italian Exhibition Group.
The data guides development and communication choices
The traveler is not a passive consumer but a thinking, self-determined individual, aware of his own needs and desires. This is why tourism companies should both build real storytelling, based on concrete data and verifiable information, and focus on an offer that respects the needs of the environment, which takes into account the most pressing social issues, such as the protection of the environment and ecosystems.
From this point of view, the data constitutes a valid starting point for driving the growth of the sector. “Veritas” can lead the fusion between digital and physical, to create tourism capable of meeting the needs of travelers looking for a product capable of facing the challenges of the future. Therefore, generative intelligence, automatic systems for monitoring and detecting tourist flows, and all the technology that can simplify the work of tourist operators and improve the offer are welcome, as long as there is, at the root, a project that arises from the depth of human thought.
