The 2023 edition of Piscina & Wellness Barcelona, the international event dedicated to the swimming pool and wellness sector, concluded with exceptionally positive numbers. Held from November 27 to 30 at the Fira Barcelona Gran Vía exhibition center, it was indeed the best edition of the last decade. As reported by the Spanish portal Camping Profesional, the exhibition featured the participation of 367 exhibitors from 30 countries and was attended by over 14,000 professionals, 56% of whom were international, representing more than 100 countries.
This record-breaking edition saw growth in every aspect. Firstly, the exhibition expanded its commercial area by 54% compared to 2021 and achieved the absolute record of international participation with 68% of foreign companies. It also recorded a 40% increase in visitors compared to the last edition held two years ago during the peak of the pandemic, surpassing the attendance of the 2019 fair by 16%. Additionally, there was an increase in the participation of international buyers from Mexico, France, Portugal, Italy, China, Belgium, Germany, and the Middle East.
The success extended to every area of the exhibition
Beyond the commercial offerings, the Innovation Zone, featuring about 20 new products for a smart, connected, sustainable, and healthy pool, generated significant interest. The Wellness Experience, a large wellness center with an active pool, saunas, hot tubs, showers, fitness area, and treatment cabins, and the Outdoor Living Experience, showcasing new products and services related to pools, outdoor decoration, and outdoor wellness experiences, also drew considerable attention.
Piscina & Wellness Barcelona hosted several conferences that promoted debate and networking, including the inaugural edition of the Pool Horizons Summit, which reflected on the role of pools and their contribution to social and environmental challenges.
As a novelty and as part of measures to reduce the event’s environmental footprint, all pools and spas exhibited at the fair were filled with vitalized seawater, a sustainable alternative from the company “Másque iniciativas.” After the fair’s closure, the water was collected in tankers to be reused in other aquatic facilities or in fire reservoirs.
The exhibition attracts visitors and quality customers
Commenting on the positive results of the 2023 edition, the president of Piscina & Wellness Barcelona, Eloi Planes, emphasized the salon’s ability to attract “quality visitors and clients with specific projects that need to apply solutions strongly focused on sustainability to adapt all types of aquatic facilities, both residential and public, to the needs of the changing climate context we find ourselves in”.
The next edition of Piscina & Wellness Barcelona is scheduled for November 17-20, 2025.
