Sandaya, one of Europe’s leading premium open-air hospitality groups, has announced the acquisition of Camping Les Tropiques, located in Torreilles in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of southern France. This 4-star addition brings the group’s portfolio to 65 campsites across France and Europe, further strengthening its position in the high-end camping sector.
The acquisition also marks Sandaya’s debut in the French Catalan region—a strategic destination just a few kilometres from Spain and the city of Perpignan. Nestled in a 14-hectare nature park and only 600 metres from the beach, Camping Les Tropiques boasts a prime location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees – perfect for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
The campsite features 450 pitches, 262 of which are dedicated to rental accommodation. It caters to a wide-ranging clientele in search of a relaxing yet fun-filled holiday. Guests can enjoy a 500-square-metre water park with a heated outdoor pool and water play areas, along with a wellness centre offering a hammam, hot tubs, and beauty treatments including manicures and facial and body therapies. A varied entertainment programme includes aquagym, fitness classes, tennis, and dedicated kids’ clubs.
A full suite of on-site services ensures a comfortable stay, including a restaurant, bar, grocery shop, bakery, laundry facilities, and bicycle hire. The campsite will be open from 23 May to 28 September 2025 and is located on Boulevard de la Plage in Torreilles.
