A new French camping chain is entering the market: Ushuaïa Villages, a brand license owned by TF1 and managed by TF1 Licensing (which already launched the Camping Paradis camping chain in 2020, inspired by a successful television series of the same name).
Ushuaïa Villages presents itself as a chain strongly focused on natural camping. The goal is to gather under this brand the most authentic campsites, immersed in nature, and deeply rooted in the local environment. The heart of the project is an approach to sustainable and responsible tourism that protects the planet and offers guests an exceptional experience of discovering the world around us.
The 4 key values of the project
Interviewed by the L’Officiel des terrains de camping magazine, Olivier Lachenaud, president of 5 C Développement and project coordinator, recalled the 4 values around which the idea of this new camping network is developed: nature, exploration, reconnection, and self-reliance. Specifically, the manager explained that when talking about nature, it refers not only to the natural context of the site but also to sustainable and responsible tourism practices and activities for discovering nature and the environment.
Exploration serves to discover the territory while opening up to new experiences. Therefore, Ushuaïa Villages campsites will offer various excursions to explore and enjoy the surrounding area. Reconnection, on the other hand, represents the idea of returning to the essential and enjoying the moment. Finally, self-reliance translates into the pleasure of learning, understanding the world around us, and rediscovering the satisfaction of accomplishing something.
In practice, all activities in Ushuaïa Villages campsites will revolve around these values, engaging guests in discovery activities and reconnecting with nature.
Objective 2024: affiliate 10-12 campsites
Sharing these ideals is necessary to become part of the Ushuaïa Villages chain. As emphasized by Olivier Lachenaud, all owners of facilities sensitive to ecological and environmental issues are welcome, as well as people who love their region and want to enhance it while respecting the environment. Therefore, campsites of all sizes are welcome, as long as they respect the ideals and values on which Ushuaïa Villages is founded, namely respect for nature and the protection of the planet.
“We know that many campsite owners already have this sensitivity,” said Lachenaud. “We want to accompany our future affiliates in these initiatives and help them be recognized by holidaymakers who want to share this desire with us. The goal of Ushuaïa Villages is to offer a differentiated and recognizable offer that integrates an approach to sustainable and responsible tourism that meets a strong demand from holidaymakers”.
Affiliating 10-12 campsites that reflect these characteristics is the management’s goal for 2024. The entry modalities into the chain include an entry fee, a right to use the brand, and a percentage of revenue.
