Italian Federturismo Confindustria has undergone a leadership change, appointing Massimo Caputi, current President of Terme & Spa Italia and Terme di Saturnia Spa, as its new President for the 2026–2030 mandate. The decision was taken by the Federation’s General Council on 22 April 2026 and marks the handover from Marina Lalli, who has led Federturismo in recent years, guiding the sector through the post-pandemic recovery phase.
The appointment must now be formally ratified by the Members’ Assembly, scheduled to take place in Rome on 11 June, while the presentation of the programme and leadership team will be held during the next General Council meeting, set for 28 May.
A solid track record at the service of Italian tourism
A highly experienced manager and entrepreneur, Caputi brings his expertise to Italian tourism, with the aim of addressing future challenges and contributing to the development of the national tourism industry. Founder and majority shareholder of the investment company Feidos, Caputi has previously held senior management positions, including CEO of Grandi Stazioni Spa and CEO of the Sviluppo Italia Group (now Invitalia).
Caputi currently also serves as President of the Association of Historic Italian Brands, heads the Tourism section of Confindustria Toscana Sud, and holds the position of Vice President of the Italian Association of Confindustria Hotels, in addition to being a member of the Confindustria Credit & Finance working group. In his previous institutional mandate, he led Federterme, contributing to the strengthening of the thermal spa sector and the promotion of wellness and health tourism.
