The national assembly of the Italian Assocamping Confesercenti, which met in Rome on 25 November, has elected Michele Montemagni as the Federation’s new national president, succeeding Monica Saielli, who led the organisation for ten years.
Montemagni, from Viareggio and owner of Camping Bosco Verde in Torre del Lago Puccini, brings extensive experience representing businesses in the sector. He has previously served as president of campsite owners in Confesercenti Toscana Nord, then as regional president of Assocamping Toscana, and until now held the position of deputy national vice president of Assocamping Confesercenti.
“I would like to thank my colleagues for their trust,” Montemagni commented. “I take up the baton from Monica Saielli after a decade in which open-air tourism has grown significantly in visibility and recognition. We are now entering a new phase: businesses need certainty, clear and stable regulations, and support for investments in facility upgrades, environmental sustainability, and service innovation. Assocamping will continue to work to ensure our sector is recognised for what it is: a strategic asset for tourism and for local economies.”
