The Federal Association of Camping Business in Germany (BVCD) has announced the appointment of Frank Schaal as the new Managing Director, effective February 1, 2024. Schaal has taken on the role of Managing Director for both BVCD and BVCD Service GmbH. He succeeds Christian Günther, who, after over seven years of successful service, will leave the association on March 31, 2024.
“Even before my tenure as the President of BVCD, I witnessed Christian Günther as a dedicated and passionate Managing Director,” said Stefan Zierke, President of BVCD. “He not only possesses extensive knowledge but also has a vast network in the camping and tourism industry. On behalf of the board, we express our sincere gratitude for his years of dedicated service to the Federal Association and wish him the very best for the future“.
Schaal brings significant leadership experience in tourism, having worked as a Destinations Manager in Bitburger Land and independently in Regional Management, developing village development concepts for Eifler communities. Prior to joining BVCD, he served as a Professor at EBC Hochschule Tourismus Management and was the Managing Director of the Museumspark Rüdersdorf in Berlin.
“I am delighted that we have gained an experienced tourism professional in Frank Schaal, who will help us not only prepare the industry but also the association for the future,” explained Zierke. “He brings the right qualifications and a fresh perspective. We look forward to the collaboration!“.
