According to the Italian Ministry of Tourism, in 2024 tourism generated about 13% of total employment in Italy, with growth forecasts for the coming years. The sector continues to create jobs, but companies are struggling to fill them: a report by the Fondazione Studi dei Consulenti del Lavoro highlighted that in 2024 more than half of hires in tourism were difficult to fill (51.8%), compared to 24.6% in 2019. This means that many businesses are finding it hard to source the profiles they need precisely at a time when the sector is expanding.
For this reason, staff selection has become one of the most complex challenges for tourism and hospitality companies. Identifying competent, motivated profiles aligned with company values requires time, method and great care, but it is certainly a decisive step for the success of any business in the sector.
To facilitate the meeting of supply and demand, FAITA Federcamping has launched a collaboration with Job in Tourism, a platform specializing in recruiting and training in the tourism field. The portal and its digital channels connect companies – hotels, hotel chains, tour operators, catering, cruises, holiday villages and agencies – with professionals and candidates looking for opportunities, from managerial roles to operational positions, from maintenance to entertainment and catering.
The initiative by FAITA Federcamping therefore confirms how the sector is increasingly aware of the strategic importance of recruiting in order to find reliable, competent collaborators with the right human qualities.
Job in Tourism is a valuable operational tool that supports companies in staff selection. But the platform does not limit itself to publishing job offers from companies seeking new talent to bring into their organization: it also offers guidance and training services and organizes events, such as the TFP Summit.
