The Italian region Emilia-Romagna provides professional operators with the guidelines that will allow the reopening of the accommodation facilities. Hopefully from next Monday May 18th. In a meeting that was held between the Region, trade associations, trade unions and representatives of local authorities, two documents were shared, one specific to campsites, tourist villages and marina resorts.
Bilingual information, empowerment and distancing are the critical points. Guests must always be informed of the behaviors to be followed from the moment of their arrival and be able to respect the distance of 1 meter in any condition (with the exception of families around a table in the restaurant or bar).
Whenever possible, it is preferable that the check-in and check-out operations take place online, while in case of a physical presence at the reception it is better that the operations are delegated to a group leader. Everything must take place with adequate protections. Masks, disposable gloves and surface disinfectant should be available, possibly for a fee, by guests who request it. In the common areas there should be gel dispensers available with an alcohol concentration of 60-85%.
For the most critical aspects, explicit limitations have been foreseen. Happy hours, tastings and buffets will therefore be prohibited, as well as dance entertainment and musical events, with the exception of concerts, where adequate spacing between the seats must be provided. At the bar, where guests are suggested to sit at the tables, and in the restaurant, the menus should preferably be available in digital format or on customers’ devices. In case of a traditional menu, this must be disinfected after each use.
For the children animation it will be necessary to follow the rule in the regional protocol for summer centers, while swimming pools and wellness areas has to wait the safety rules that will be issued for the reopening of these activities. In the absence of indications, access and use must be inhibited. For the use of private beaches, the guidelines developed for the bathing establishments apply.
