The Camping Business editorial team joins the mourning of Raffaele Jannucci, who passed away yesterday at the age of 94. A brilliant innovator in the plein air tourism sector for over five decades, Jannucci’s career began with a law degree, leading him into advertising and then to become the public relations head for Corriere della Sera’s group. His venture into publishing with the magazine Italia Caravanning evolved into 2C and then into Plein Air. His efforts not only propelled the Italian caravanning industry forward but also brought the plein air sector into prominence at a European level.
Plein Air magazine was a driving force in the success of Italy’s caravanning industry, fostering growth and development that resonated across borders. His family, including his two daughters and wife Luciana, mourn a man who was not just a successful entrepreneur but also a true visionary whose legacy will continue to influence outdoor tourism.
“Three years ago, he became a columnist for our newspaper Camper Professional Italia, writing a leading article in each issue and offering Italian industry professionals insights that were always current and focused,” says director Antonio Mazzucchelli. “A man of culture, a brave entrepreneur, and an extraordinary communicator. We have lost a special person”.
