Continuity at the helm of Italy’s leading organisation representing the open-air tourism sector. Alberto Granzotto has been reappointed National President of FAITA Federcamping for the 2026–2031 term. His reappointment was formalised by the Elective Assembly held on 27 August.

Granzotto will therefore continue the path he began in 2021 at the helm of the Federation of open-air tourism businesses, which is affiliated with Confturismo-Confcommercio. Four vice-presidents will support him during the new term: Fabio Poletti (FAITA Trentino), Claudio Galassi (FAITA Tuscany), Ubaldo Fusco (FAITA Lazio) and Nicola Napolitano (FAITA Sardinia). The new leadership team provides broad representation of the sector’s different regional realities.

Born in 1965 and a graduate in Economics and Business Administration from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Granzotto chairs the Board of Directors of Villaggio Turistico Internazionale in Bibione and is CEO of Aurore Development, a company operating in the open-air tourism sector. Since January 2026, he has also served as National Vice-President of Confturismo.

His reappointment comes at a time when Italy’s open-air tourism sector continues to undergo a process of structural transformation. During his previous term, Granzotto’s presidency placed environmental, economic and social sustainability, inclusion and accessibility at the centre of the association’s agenda, alongside the growing importance of digitalisation in facility management, marketing and booking processes.

“I would like to thank the regional associations for the trust they have placed in me,” Granzotto said, highlighting his intention to continue along the path of innovation, both in the development of services for guests and in the environmental and digital fields. The president also pointed to the growth in arrivals and overnight stays recorded by Italian campsites and holiday villages during the current season.

According to data reported by FAITA, the sector comprises around 2,600 businesses and generates a total turnover of €8.5 billion, including direct and indirect activities and related economic impact, with approximately 74 million overnight stays. These figures confirm the importance of open-air tourism within Italy’s wider tourism industry.

The first major event of the new term will be the Open Air Forum, scheduled to take place in Rome EUR on 26 and 27 October. The event will provide an opportunity to present sector studies and research and to take an initial look at the 2026 season, with the participation of institutional representatives and industry experts.
