The countdown has begun for Forum Open Air 2025, which will take place in Rome on October 22–23 at the Auditorium del Massimo. At this national event, organized by FAITA-Federcamping and dedicated to the world of open-air tourism, entrepreneurs, managers, and industry professionals will come together to learn, network, and tackle the key challenges of today: sustainability, innovation, emerging technologies, and regulatory transformations.
Alongside the exhibition area, a full program of meetings and conferences will take place on October 22 and 23. Preceding these, on October 21, a full day of training will be dedicated to activities offered by FAITA Academy, the Federation’s initiative aimed at supporting the professional growth of entrepreneurs and managers in the sector.
Event program
The October 21 training day, curated by FAITA Academy, will focus on several topics of particular relevance and interest for the sector. Discussions will cover catering in open-air tourism, analyzing trends and solutions that meet diverse dietary needs – from vegan to gluten-free, plant-based options, and single-dish solutions – with insights on food costs and human resources management.
The training will also address regulatory and technical aspects, focusing on the new classification system for open-air accommodation facilities and the simplifications introduced for installing mobile lodging units. The day will explore economic and environmental sustainability of mobile installations and temporary setups supporting recreational, sports, and leisure activities.
Further sessions will examine the new draft law on health and safety in swimming pools, as well as mandatory insurance coverage against risks and catastrophic events. The day will conclude with an exploration of integrated, digital, all-in-one hospitality, featuring case studies of Yato and HU Openair, concrete examples of innovation and transformation in the sector.
On October 22, the Forum will officially open with an introductory speech by FAITA-Federcamping National Director Marco Sperapani. The day will address the sector’s main current issues, from regulatory updates on contracts and copyright law to data analysis and market forecasts, with particular emphasis on the role of a Data Lake platform as a strategic tool for promotion and investment.
The discussions will also focus on the positioning of open-air accommodation facilities as true territorial hubs, capable of enhancing local traditions, culture, and experiences thanks to longer average stays and tourists eager to explore the territory. Another key theme will be the evolution of the offer, increasingly integrated between comfort, technology, high-quality catering, and sports and recreational activities. The day will conclude with a focus on tools for business development, including management solutions, access to credit, and sustainability-oriented strategies.
October 23 will be dedicated to an in-depth look at open-air tourism, currently undergoing profound transformation thanks to innovation, sustainability, and new hospitality formats such as glamping. The session will open with a speech by FAITA Federcamping National President Alberto Granzotto. A talk show hosted by Gianluca Semprini and Roberta Capua will guide the discussion on the present and future of the sector, exploring evolving scenarios, emerging markets, and opportunities to attract and retain new types of travelers.
The in-depth sessions will focus, on one hand, on the advent of AI and its impact on employment, and on the other, on new market opportunities for open-air tourism, examining how this form of travel can continue to engage and attract new guests.
