The theme of the outdoors and open-air hospitality will find its place within TTG – INOUT 2023, above all (but not only) in the areas dedicated to SIA Hospitality Design, an event of which Camping Business is media partner. The main theme at the center of the event, organized by Italian Exhibition Group and which will be held in Rimini from October 11 to October 13, 2023, is this year Utopia. This term, understood in its positive meaning, emerges when it is used in the sense of an achievable ideal. Oscar Wilde’s famous phrase “Progress is the realization of Utopia” underlines the importance of utopian thought in its concreteness.
The tourism and hospitality sector is experiencing a phase of profound transformation. In addition to being a space for escape and beauty, the tourist product is adapting to the new challenges imposed by the contemporary world. Companies in the sector are directly addressing issues such as global warming, gender inequalities, and the energy emergency. Utopia represents an opportunity for a radical transformation of services, products, communication, and sales strategies.
The main theme
“Every year we choose a main theme for our event, a concept that in one word reflects the historical, social, and economic moment in which companies in the sector find themselves operating,” explains Gloria Armiri, Group Exhibition Manager – Tourism & Hospitality Division of Italian Exhibition Group. “An exercise of analysis and synthesis made possible by our daily contact with companies and territories through the work of all the teams of the Tourism & Hospitality Division, from the commercial team to the editorial staff; a constant listening also through the many events linked to the Exhibition and the collateral appointments organized during the year“.
2023 will be the year of Utopia, with numerous innovations in the tourism and hospitality sector that combine traveler expectations with environmental and social priorities. “The numerous news of products and services recently born from the need to combine travelers’ expectations with environmental and social priorities are a confirmation of how the industry is aiming at new horizons and unusual perspectives,” adds Armiri. “Utopia is the most suitable word to summarize this admirable effort of creativity and design put in place by the various players in the sector”.
The slogan chosen for the event is “Live. Believe.”
Utopia manifests itself in the new transformative tourism proposals, which satisfy the travellers’ desire for personal growth. The holiday is becoming an opportunity to improve self-knowledge and perception of the surrounding environment, rather than just a short moment of relaxation. Travelers are called to live in close contact with the residents of the places they visit. Organized tours promote an equal dialogue between animal and plant species, offering products in which the traveler becomes an integral part of the natural context. Well-being is not just about physical fitness, but also about the mental and spiritual well-being of guests.
Tourism and hospitality businesses are aware of their role within a complex network, in which travelers and industry professionals operate in a system that relates to ethics, the economy, the new geopolitical balances, and society and climate change.
The visual chosen to represent the TTG – INOUT 2023 theme is modeled on the golden spiral, a symbol of harmony and perfection. It recalls the importance of designing a new order for the development of the sector, businesses, and products. The inclusion of the Phi symbol in the Utopia logo recalls Greek thought, inviting the players in the sector to creative, rational ,and current planning. The visual background, composed of fractals generated by artificial intelligence, represents contemporaneity.
A rich schedule of events
The theme of Utopia will be reflected in the rich schedule of events called “Think Future di TTG – INOUT 2023″. This program, divided into 9 arenas, will offer animated debates and comparisons by academics and professionals in the sector, describing the strategies adopted by companies and territories to create new products, services, and narratives.
Destinations are increasing the offers that allow travelers to come into direct contact with artists, designers, musicians, artisans and spiritual guides, favoring new forms of cultural contamination. In the transport sector, services are being developed that take care of the passenger as part of an ecosystem to be preserved, thanks to new alliances between means of transport, optimization of routes, hydroponic crops on board cruise ships, choice of sustainable fuels and adjustment of the in energy saving infrastructure. Hotel companies are adopting sustainable building and interior design standards, enhancing local craftsmen and materials, introducing greener interior spaces, working to reduce food waste, save energy, reduce CO2 emissions, and promote local production through vegetable gardens and terraces.
Utopia is also the theme that will guide the selection of candidates for Book&Go, the space dedicated to travel stories. The call is open to report books, guides and, starting this year, video productions that the 12 selected authors will present directly to the large audience of professionals attending the event.
Four different areas
The 60th edition of the TTG Travel Experience, the main tourism and hospitality event, represents an important meeting point for professional operators. This year, the new format of INOUT will bring together four different areas: SIA Hospitality Design, SUN Beach&Outdoor Style, Surfaces and the new Greenscape. The entire hospitality supply chain will meet simultaneously at the TTG Travel Experience event, creating the largest marketplace for the world of tourism and hospitality, which will welcome a wide range of accommodation facilities, resorts, non-hotel businesses, and tourism companies from Italy and from all over the world, together with the main players in the sector.
