The European Union and all its Member States are proceeding with the reopening of their borders. However, the last few months have not been easy: between total or partial lockdowns, restrictions on circulation on a regional or national basis, different precautions between countries, travel has often proved impractical. The borders reopening and the movements between different countries still require the need to verify local information in order not to run the risk of facing with unexpected events.
The European Union has thus decided to equip itself with a tool designed to help those who travel for work, personal reasons or tourism: a website – reopen.europa.eu – which contains information updated almost in real time on all the countries of the Union. “While protecting the public health remains our priority, we want everyone to enjoy their holidays, to reunite with family and friends, and to be able to travel for any purpose,” tells the introduction. “This interactive tool provides you with the information that you need to confidently plan your European travel and holidays, while staying healthy and safe. The information is frequently updated and available in 24 languages for your convenience”.
Choose the country in which you want to go, and you obtain general information, data relating to any travel restrictions (both within the country and for specific origins), news relating to services offered to the public and important information on health and safety. In practice, it is possible to know if and where it is necessary to wear a mask, what is the prescribed social distancing, how to behave in certain places and much more. In short, a practical tool that constitutes one of the many pieces of the largest European tourist framework.
