WES3, a fully wireless EN54 certified fire alarm system

Building a fire alarm system for an open-air accommodation is a complex and expensive project. Planning and building wiring tracks can turn into a nightmare. To try to solve this kind of problem, New Marinas.it from Lombardy proposes the WES3 wireless solution, developed by the British fire-fighting experts of Ramtech Electronics.

EN54 certified, this innovative alarm system was developed to provide a simple, quick and safe method of communicating fire and medical emergencies in complex environments such as outdoor accommodation. Completely wireless, WES3 requires neither power nor network cables for communications. The built-in battery allows each device to work continuously for up to three years and, in the event of a power failure, a notification is sent to the base station. The system also has an emergency medical function and allows alarm notifications to be sent to multiple telephone numbers as well as to the base station.

The heart of the WES3 is the Base Station, a primary control unit that allows complete management and real-time diagnostics of any connected unit. An accurate log of all system events can be downloaded via USB to allow accurate reporting of site problems.

The manual call point with strobe and siren allows you to issue the alarm signal or activate an optional pre-alarm functionality, even at site level, from any unit. This device also includes the medical alert system. Instead, the thermal detector is used as part of a site-wide active detection system: it has 24/7 technology suitable for areas such as kitchens or similar, which present an inherent risk of false alarms. Finally, the dust resistant smoke detector, a unique feature of WES3, is powered by a dual optical technology that minimizes the risk of false alarms and provides 24/7 protection in unattended site areas even during nights and weekends.

The system is completed by an interface that allows the WES3 to be integrated with third-party systems – such as standalone or fixed cable fire alarms, turnstiles, elevators, gas detectors and so on – and with a repeater link unit that triggers the capacity radio signal in particularly large, complex or high density sites.
